Dance of Glory model.

The LEED for homes pilot program was developed by the USGBC (www.usgbc.org), a nonprofit organization. Their mission is to advocate, spread and most importantly standardized green building practices on a nation wide basis. They have come up with the LEED for homes rating system- which spells out the requirements for each of the four ratings possible and assigns a numerical value depending on how well your project meets their requirements. The four ratings include Certified, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
Once the house has been awarded one of the above ratings you can be assured the home will consume less energy, water and natural resources; creates less waste; and is healthier and more comfortable for the occupants. Further benefits are reflected in fewer dollars being spent on water and electric bills, less green house gases being produced, and a much less toxic indoor environment free from mildew, mold and carcinogens.

In order to do this, our engineers and architects have to have the best tools possible; otherwise we will not get the 3d design we are striving to bring to reality. The ability to design true digital prototypes inexpensively and quickly gives SCI another advantage over our competitors. What used to take us weeks or months and consume precious R and D funds to build and test various house components now can be achieved in a matter of days and at a much-reduced cost.
Digital prototyping gives simply constructed the ability to virtually design (on the computer) a more energy efficient home with sophisticated wall and roof truss journey that snap together. All at this prototyping is done on a scalable computer model that is completed before it is built in the real physical world. This allows SCI to create validate optimize, and manage designs from the constructed phase through the manufacturing process. By using a digital prototype, simply constructed can visualize and simulate various real-world performances of the design with less reliance on costly physical prototypes.
